Since Dundas is hosting the Allan Cup and the Cambridge Hornets  made it to the league finals Cambridge represented  the league when they defeated   the Saguenay Paramedic from Quebec in the Renwick Cup which is the Central Canada Allan Cup Championship

The Cambridge Hornets travelled   to Saint John New Brunswick to face the Lancaster Aquarius ThunderCats who  won the Atlantic Cup by sweeping the Prince Edward Stars 3-0

After being delayed by a winter storm and not being able to get to Saint John until Sun Apr 6 the first game of the best of 3 on the Saturday  was cancelled.  It was then decided that if the two teams split the first two games they would play a one period tie breaker for the Championship at the end of Game Two
