Scott Dickie registered the only shut-out of the 2005 Major League Hockey playoffs as the Aylmer Blues defeated the Dundas Real McCoys 6-0 to win their 2nd straight Robertson Trophy, emblematic of the OHA Senior championship.  The Blues dropped only one game in each of their best-of-seven series to equal their playoff record last season when they swept the Cambridge Hornets 4-0 in the semi-final and took six games to oust Tillsonburg in the final.  This season they dispatched of the Vipers in five games in the semi-final and repeated that feat in the final, losing only game three of each series.

The championship winning goal came at 3:35 of the first period in front of the home-town fans at the East Elgin Community Centre when Jason Glover, playing with a broken bone in his hand, converted a feed from Jeff Zehr past Wayne Cowley in net for the McCoys.  Zehr made it 2-0 from Andrew Long and Captain John Dance at 10:54 while Mark Jooris was serving a tripping minor and the Blues took that lead to the dressing for the first time.  Three goals late in the middle frame disheartened the visitors and put the Blues completely in command.  Glover scored again from Long and Zehr at 17:58 while Brett Barnett was cooling his heels for high-sticking then Matt Weir, Jason Heywood and Mike Shewan combined to make it 4-0 at 18:50 followed at 19:28 by a goal credited to Andrew Taylor from Weir and Heywood.  Tough guy, Troy Kahler, completed the scoring at 6:18 of the third assisted by Weir.  Dickie turned aside all 33 shots fired his way by Dundas and Cowley also stopped 33 of the 39 shots that he faced at the other end of the ice.
